The workforce may include men and women from different religious followings, castes and creeds, with diverse educational backgrounds, with a variety of social and political beliefs. Demographically different people communicate differently and they may come into conflict and create negative energy in organizations. Whereas homogenous group may work cohesively; but when one of them leaves, it can trigger a mass exodus. Are we thinking like business mangers or are we Silos?
Frontline managers today know the old silo/department way of thinking and organizing a business no longer works. They believe that all work occurring in an enterprise is interconnected, Variation exists in all processes, and Understanding and reducing variation are keys to success. Silo mentality can create significant inefficiencies and bottlenecks that lead to dysfunctionality. Avoid it. Change is happening all around, it is painful, it is inevitable and it is better to be rushing on a new path instead of staying on the same one which is a key ingredient in order to have a successful organization according to Dr. Uday Salunkhe.

Nothing in life comes to us easily .Successful leaders don’t depend on luck, they take risks that are sometimes necessary, sometimes optional. A dynamic business leader is never satisfied, does not settle at a comfort level, he wants to experience the unlimited adventures offered by life. So he keeps stretching himself by regularly taking risks. It is interesting to note that out of the corporate managers and entrepreneurs, the entrepreneurs consistently take riskier bets. Always look for that entrepreneur in you and go for it. Make risk management a part of your project, your life, something Dr. Uday Salunkhe has managed to do very well.

As a manager; an individual has to play several roles such leader, team member, departmental head, representative of the company at an outside forum, corporate citizen and head of a family. A role is an organized set of behaviors which can broadly be categorized as Interpersonal, informational, and decisional. A leader defines the relationships between the manger and employees, but will have to play these roles at different times, to different degrees depending on the situation on hand. After all he is the figurehead of the organization, represents it socially and may also be its spokesperson which is something Dr. Uday Salunkhe relates to in his daily life

And finally, Verify that the change has been made, that it has been executed correctly .Always keep a backup plan ready. If a change has had an adverse effect on the system, instead of rushing headlong into a corrective mode it should be reversed, reassessed and re-implemented once the point at which it failed has been identified. Regularly reflect on the change management process to identify pain points many of which could be sorted out with advance planning.
